In 1967, when I was a little girl, my family and I loaded into a baby blue, Ford “Country Squire” station wagon (complete with ultra-cool, imitation wood paneling), along with a camper-trailer in tow, and headed off across this great country of ours, to attend Expo ’67 in Montréal for Canada’s 100th Birthday Celebration. It was an amazing adventure and Expo ’67 left a huge impression on me, as well as many vivid memories! 🙂
On June 30th, 2017, I ventured out on a short road trip to Saskatchewan. On the eve of Canada’s 150th Birthday, in a town on the way to Saskatoon, I was thrilled to stumble upon a wall made out retro “wind-screen” blocks (part of which is shown here in this pic) in the stylized “maple leaf” symbol of Expo ’67!!! The fond memories of my family’s trip to Montréal came flooding back to me… it was a very happy and serendipitous happenstance, indeed!
Happy 150 Canada!!! 😀 (& Throw-Back Thursday!)
